Thanks to Marge for delicious canapes (we all want the recipe for the pastry!) and Jubbly cake |
Natalie Feddon, Chair LABBS, came to visit us in person this time! We were celebrating the Jubilee in red, white and blue (Clare Hamblin was the best dressed) and sang a glorious version of Anthem together |
Sonic Quartet came to visit us tonight to inspire us to take up quartetting! Thank you (left to right) Lisa, Elena, Debbie and Caroline). It does sound like a lot of fun so who knows.....! |
Signature joined us for our rehearsal on 2 September and we had great time massaging our feet (!) as well as singing in rounds and sharing songs. |
We had a wonderful session with Quincie Snook taking us through some yoga breathing exercises - making us perfectly ready for our rehearsal. Thank you so much - we will be using those exercises a lot! |
We have an amazing new web platform for our website and chorus management! Huge thanks go to our admin team for all the work they have put in to setting up the site and moving all the data over from various sources. It will be great to have everything in one place. The new platform looks great and we have had brilliant support from Making Music all the way. |
Lockdown ain’t gonna stop us! Tonight we had the most fabulous coaching session with our wonderful singing coach Paula Taylor-Williams. Engaging, exciting and “epic” are how we’d describe it; thank you Paula |
We’re fully in to our virtual Chorus rehearsals now! We dance, we sing, we work on vocal craft, performance, performance analysis and you know, of course we chat and laugh too! (with occasional cameo from one of our pets!) But we love being together each week ♥ |
Harmony InSpires competed in 2 classes at the Oxford Music Festival on 25 Jan 2020 - our first competiton with our new MD, Hari Birtles. We had a most enjoyable day, performing "Yesterday I Heard the Rain" and "Sunny" (arranged for us by the talented Sam Hubbard) in the Barbershop Class and Anthem (Chess) and The Climb (Hannah Montana) in the Ladies Choir Class. The adjudicator, Stephen Carleston, gave us enthusiastic feedback and we were thrilled to be awarded "Outstanding" , the highest category, in both classes. |
